umanatarajanVanakkam, Namaste, Swagatam! My name is Uma and I am your Indian vegetarian cooking instructor. I have been living in Palmerston North since 2004 with my husband and 2 boys. I am passionate about cooking. I am proud of my Indian heritage. I have always been happy to share both of these with whoever interested.

I have taught Indian vegetarian cooking for a term at Queen Elizabeth College for the Adult Continuing Education evening program. I had a happy bunch of students, who still keep in touch. We even had a few Indian dinner evenings together.

Currently I teach only 3 classes per week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 10am to 12pm. Since I have a young family, I avoid teaching in term holidays. Details of course fee are available here.

I am happy to do Indian vegetarian cooking workshop for group of interested people. Please feel free to get in touch if you wish to organise one for you and your friends.

As part of sharing our true Indian heritage, we have started a new package tour offering to South India. For details, please visit Takeme2India.
