ALOO MUTTER PANEER (POTATOES, GREEN PEAS & INDIAN COTTAGE CHEESE CURRY)
Ingredients
- 1 large potato
- 1 cup green peas
- 150g paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 large onion
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- ¾ tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 3 tbsp cream (optional)
- 3 tbsp oil
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves to garnish
Method
- Microwave potato for 5-7 minutes. When it cools, cut into chunks
- Slice onion & tomatoes
- Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger and garlic paste. Fry till nice aroma arises
- Add sliced onions. Fry till they become slightly brown
- Add chilli powder, coriander powder, salt & turmeric powder and fry for 2 minutes
- Toss in sliced tomatoes. Cook till they become mushy.
- Add potatoes with a cup of water and cook for 10 minutes
- Now add peas & cook for 3 minutes
- Add paneer cubes into the gravy. Cook for further 5 minutes
- Add garam masala powder and let it simmer for another 2 minutes
- If using cream, add now and cook for 2 minutes
- Garnish with coriander leaves
